about
Until Abbott Gets Gone are a political punk rock band from Sydney, Australia, formed in February 2015.
Their gimmick: They exist solely until current PM Tony Abbott steps down. Fed up with Abbott's stance on the environment, refugees, gender and Australia's First Nations, the band is an outlet to express their dissatisfaction and add the band's voices (screams) to the millions already saying 'enough is enough.'
All proceeds will be split between Greenpeace and the Climate Council, under a structure we call 'Not For Profit Rock'n'Roll.
lyrics
We're running, we're running...
Let's burn it all down
dust lies thick on the sunset
to the edge of the world it's been swept
by the maddening wind
that's been blowing for years
not one promise was kept
the river shattered like crystal
the drought has broken her back
and black cotton soil
as dark as our graves
covers all that's been said
(burn)
let's burn it all down
raise the planet to the ground
under the weather
heard your excuses
said right to our faces
we've got your
your number
(burn)
we're running, we're running, we're running of time
let's burn it all down
raise the planet to the ground
